Are you ready to take your career to the next level? Join our Infrastructure and Digital Assets (IDA) Group as the SAP Architect - Technical Lead. You'll head a specialist team driving innovation and delivering expert guidance to support the evolution and enhancement of the SAP solution across the organisation.
Infrastructure and Digital Assets (IDA) provides a range of services to support the delivery of Corrections' core business and ensure we can maintain consistent service delivery regardless of external events and crises.
As Technical Lead, you'll align technology solutions with broader business strategy, working closely with Enterprise Architects, SAP Product Leads, Security Leads, and SAP Technology Specialists across functional domains. You'll shape the SAP technical architecture and assess how SAP and SaaS applications interact across the landscape ensuring stability, scalability, and future readiness.
This is a permanent, full-time role located at our National Office in Wellington. Applicants residing outside the region will be considered only if they are open to relocating. Please indicate your willingness to relocate in your cover letter.

The successful candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills and experience:
- Understanding of SAP best practice - SAP BASIS / SAP Technical Environment
- Technical professional with at least 3+ full life cycle SAP implementation, 2+ upgrade projects and 3+ support projects
- Understanding of the Business requirements AS-IS to be able to provide the TO-BE technical architect, approach or solution
- Proven experience managing and working with an SAP hosting provider.
- Understanding of the NetWeaver foundation including interaction of the following components: Application Server ABAP (AS-ABAP), Application Server Java (AS-JAVA), Business Intelligence Java (BI-JAVA), Development Infrastructure (DI), Enterprise Portal (EP), Mobile Infrastructure (MI), and Cloud Platform Integration C(PI).
- Previous experience of tools, deploying and configuring environment in a Cloud Platform
- Technical knowledge of security best practices across a variety of cloud and on-prem use cases and architectures

Nga painga | The benefits
The midpoint of the salary range is $147,765 per annum and the full range (85%-120%) is $125,601 - $177,318 per annum. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
