Senior Android Developer

At Framna, we are looking for a Senior Android Developer who enjoys the mix of big thinking and hands-on building. Someone who can guide a team through tough technical calls, champion great Android craft, and still have fun doing it. Framna partners with some of the world’s most ambitious brands, like Swish, SJ, Essity, and SEB, to create digital products that define markets and deliver real-world impact. We are now more than 600 people across ten studios, building apps used by millions every day.

As our next Lead Android Developer, you will be part of a cross-functional product team of designers, developers, QA engineers, analysts, and product leads who take ideas from first concept to real-world product. You will also take on a broader role, guiding technical decisions, coaching teammates, and ensuring the team builds with both quality and long-term thinking in mind.

On top of that you will contribute to our Android competence area, a company-wide group where app developers meet regularly to exchange knowledge, deepen their skills, and grow professionally together.

What you will do

As a Senior Android Developer, you will combine hands-on building with technical leadership to shape how we create world-class Android experiences.

More specifically, you will:

• Build modern Android apps using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and Android’s latest libraries and patterns.
• Define and uphold high engineering standards, clean architecture, maintainability, testability, and strong performance.
• Work closely with designers and your product team to craft Android-native interactions, animations, and UI that feel polished, intuitive, and delightful.
• Identify and solve platform-specific challenges, and help the team make informed decisions on architecture, libraries, and long-term maintainability.
• Lead technical conversations, facilitate decision-making, and provide clarity in complex or ambiguous situations.
• Mentor and support fellow developers through reviews, knowledge-sharing, and pair programming.
• Collaborate with product managers, partners, and stakeholders to understand needs, scope work, and represent the Android perspective in discussions.

Who you are

• Have several years of professional Android development experience and feel confident building modern apps end-to-end in Kotlin.
• Understand the Android platform deeply, from Jetpack Compose and architecture patterns to performance, testing, and platform quirks.
• Can lead technical discussions, frame trade-offs clearly, and guide the team toward sound architectural decisions.
• Communicate clearly and collaborate smoothly with designers, product leads, and partners.
• Enjoy mentoring, coaching, and uplifting teammates, and you naturally help create a supportive engineering culture.
• Take ownership, bring structure to ambiguity, and care that what the team builds is maintainable, scalable, and genuinely useful to users.
• Feel comfortable navigating complex domains and solving problems with both curiosity and pragmatism.
• It's a plus if you speak Swedish.
