Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Backend Developer to join a high-impact SAP cloud transformation initiative. The role focuses on designing and implementing scalable backend services for SAP cloud applications, enabling an AI-powered self-service solution that operates 24/7 for business partners.

This solution retrieves information from backend systems, significantly reducing resolution times, improving partner experience, and easing operational workload.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in Node.js, SAP BTP, and CAP, along with experience integrating SAP systems such as SAP S/4HANA.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Node.jsfor SAP cloud applications.

• Build and extend applications using SAP Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP).

• Integrate backend services with SAP S/4HANAand other SAP systems.

• Develop and consume OData servicesand REST APIs.

• Ensure performance optimization, scalability, and securityin cloud-native solutions.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Agile delivery environments.

• Support integration of AI and generative AI-based capabilitiesinto backend services.

• Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and solution optimization.

Required Skills Qualifications

• 8+ years of overall SAP experience with strong backend development exposure.

• Strong hands-on experience with Node.js.

• Solid knowledge of SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform).

• Experience working with SAP HANA Cloud.

• Strong understanding of OData services and API-based integrations.

• Familiarity with API design and generative AI concepts.

• Proven experience working in Agile (Scrum/Kanban) methodologies.

• Strong communication skills in English and Portuguese.

Tools Technologies

• Source Control CI/CD: Git, build automation tools

• Development Tools: SAP Business Application Studio, VS Code

• API Testing: Postman or equivalent tools

• Project Management: Jira

Nice to Have

• Experience with SAP GenAI Hub

• Advanced experience with CAP (Cloud Application Programming Model)

• Prior exposure to AI-powered or intelligent enterprise solutions

Travel Onsite Requirement

• Candidate must be willing to work onsite 3 days per weekwith the project team in São Leopoldo, Brazil.
