At Schibsted, we are building modern content experiences powered by data. Our mission is to enable data-informed decision-making across editorial and product teams - enhancing storytelling, driving user engagement, and maximizing business outcomes.
We are now hiring a Senior Data Analyst to join the Content Data team, embedded in the Video & Audio product area. This area includes a wide range of formats, from short-form news clips and livestreams to documentaries and podcasts - spanning brands such as VG, VGTV and Aftonbladet.
In this role, you’ll play a central part in understanding how users interact with video and audio content across our platforms. You will turn data into insights that shape editorial decisions, influence the product roadmap, and drive revenue strategies for both advertising and subscriptions. The role is based in Oslo and collaborates closely with stakeholders across brands and disciplines. The team is located in Oslo and Krakow, some travelling will be expected.
What will you do in this role?
This is a high-impact role embedded in the content development organisation. You will:
- Analyze consumption and engagement patterns for video and audio content - including metrics such as watch time, completion rates, preview interactions, and listening duration
- Design and maintain dashboards that monitor performance across key product areas, including feature improvements, sticky players, streaming destinations, live broadcasts, podcast platforms and publishing tools
- Collaborate with content creators, editors, and production teams to surface trends and inform strategy—for example, by identifying optimal publishing strategies.
- Work closely with advertising teams (SMS) to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of video and audio monetization, including ad placement performance and viewability.
- Partner with subscription teams to understand how video and audio content contributes to conversion, engagement, retention, and subscriber loyalty—and feed these insights back into product development.
- Support A/B testing efforts and experimentation on playback experience, content discoverability, and preview formats.
- Align and standardize engagement metrics across brands to ensure consistency and comparability
- Contribute to increasing data literacy within the video/audio domain by making insights accessible and relevant to cross-functional stakeholders.
Our tech stack:
- Data platform: AWS, Snowflake
- Transformation and orchestration: dbt, Airflow
- Programming and scripting: Python, SQL
- Exploration and delivery: Tableau, Amplitude, Streamlit, Kilkaya
At Schibsted, we value openness, curiosity, and collaboration. You’ll be part of a diverse, inclusive workplace that encourages bold thinking and continuous learning. Our work directly supports public interest journalism—and we take that responsibility seriously.
Whether you’re enabling better content decisions, driving user personalization, or shaping experimentation at scale, your contributions will help shape the future of digital media in the Nordics.
You will be joining a collaborative, impact-driven team that works across disciplines like technology, product, and editorial. We believe in structured yet flexible ways of working, balancing clear ownership with strong teamwork. Curiosity, openness, and a drive to create value through data are at the heart of how we operate. We support each other, celebrate continuous learning, and are passionate about turning complex challenges into meaningful solutions for our users and brands.
