Senior Project Manager (Hardware License Management)

We are looking for two consultants who will work with our clients’ Hardware License Asset Management. We are looking for 1 Senior (Project Manager) and 1 Junior (Technical Lead) consultant for a 3-months contract.

Project start: 1st of September

Project end: 30th of November

Location: Stockholm on-site minimum 3 days per week

Background and context

• Current HW and CPE SW licenses are often combined in terms of purchasing. Given that Software do not require production or logistics, SW licenses could be optimized to actual needs and improve better cashflow and cost optimization

• To date SW related to HW and CPE has received little attention creating room for improvement such as:

a. License purchase optimization (right-sizing in purchases, improved lifecycle management, right in time purchasing)

b. Increased coordination between departments

c. Improved supplier and contract management follow-up

• The combined will result in cost reduction, better cashflow and strengthened governance and control

Scope and Delivery

To ensure that when the License Asset Manager function is established, it has the best possible conditions to succeed, a project will be executed to “clean up” and pave the way focusing on the following deliverables:

1. Map current state to identify all HW and CPE Software that should be covered by the License Asset Manager function

2. Identify gaps and potential listing licenses that are not used and areas where purchasing could be improved

3. Create a clean up and realization plan and execute on identified license savings initiatives

4. Anchor Roles and Responsibilities regarding 1) Forecasting 2) Ordering 3) Decommissioning

5. Document processes and guidelines for the License Asset Manager

NOTE: 1) Our client does not have a License Asset Management Tool so the work should be based on lack of a License Assent Management tool. 2) Estimated annual HW and CPE License cost = 11 MEUR / year distributed over approx.. 15 suppliers (to be analysed and verified in the project)

Project Setup

1. We are looking for 2 consultants full time for 3 months

a. One senior consultant who has done this work before that can lead the project

• Experience from driving License Asset Management projects is required
• Great cross-functional collaborating and stakeholder management skills is needed
• Structured way of working is essential
• Great documentation and communication skills is needed

b. One junior consultant that can do the analysis and execute the cleanup to realize identified license

savings initiatives

• The consultant should have some technical knowledge and understanding of Software Licenses to be able to perform the execution to realize the identified savings
• Collaboration skills and a structured way of working is essential
• Documentation skills is required

2. Our client will will allocate 4 people to the project. 1 License Asset Manager, 1 HW asset

manager, 1 License Asset Buyer, 1 technical lead who can show how to do the cleanup hands on.

3. Project Duration: Project is estimated to take 3 months and take place Sep 1 – Nov 30
