- Full Time
We’re expanding ALTIQ™, a decade-strong product design and manufacturing company is adding a surface-mount (SMT) line to accelerate our R&D and explore new manufacturing techniques in house.
This is a rare opportunity to take the reins on a brand-new SMT capability in a proven company that already designs, tests, and ships tens of thousands of advanced products each year.
You'll work alongside our engineering team to help specify, install, and run our first in-house pick-and-place and reflow setup — handling everything from machine calibration to dialling in reflow profiles for high-performance aluminium-core PCBs.
If you’ve worked with Yamaha, Juki, Neoden, Qihe or similar machines, and you're confident with stencil printing, vision alignment, and soldering quality control — this role gives you the autonomy to build something with long-term vision.
Your Role
- Collaborate with our engineering and product teams to plan SMT line implementation
- Operate pick-and-place machines for production and R&D
- Optimise reflow oven profiles for thermally critical components (e.g. Osram LEDs, MOSFETs, inductors)
- Handle stencil design, solder paste application, feeder setup, and nozzle selection
- Maintain machine calibration, perform quality checks, and troubleshoot misplacements or solder defects
- Build process documentation and work instructions to scale production efficiently
✅ What You Bring
- Hands-on experience running SMT lines (prototype or production scale)
- Familiarity with common SMT components: 0603, QFN, DPAK, high-power LEDs, ICs
- Understanding of solder paste (SAC305, T4/T5), reflow profiles, stencil alignment
- Knowledge of component libraries, BOM import, feeder assignment, and pick-up tuning
- Ability to troubleshoot placement, solder joint issues, and reflow inconsistencies
- Bonus: experience with aluminium PCBs, LED optics, or thermal management in high-power applications
Why ALTIQ™
- 10+ years of momentum designing 4WD and industrial lighting systems
- In-house CAD, optical, thermal and electrical engineering
- Advanced workflows including 3D scanning, CFD modelling, and prototype validation
- Strong demand and ongoing innovation — now expanding into in-house electronics manufacturing
- Small, sharp team — technical precision is our language
