About the opportunity:
We are seeking a Solicitor with 2–4 years’ PQE, and a strong interest in family and relationship property law, to join our team in Ōtautahi Christchurch. You will work closely with Partners and senior practitioners on a broad range of complex and often sensitive matters. Our practice focuses on relationship property, spousal maintenance, contentious trust and estate disputes, applications under the Protection of Personal and Property Rights Act 1988 (PPPR) and child care matters. The role involves working with clients during challenging periods in their lives. You will help resolve disputes through negotiation and mediation, and where necessary, litigation. This position offers the opportunity to develop strong technical skills across a broad range of family and private client disputes, while building trusted relationships with clients and working closely with experienced practitioners in a supportive team environment.
What we are looking for:
The successful applicant will have 2+ years PQE experience, proven technical ability, and exceptional attention to detail. You’ll also understand the importance of excellence in client service and appreciate the value of relationships, both within and outside of the Firm. Experience or a strong interest in family and relationship property matters will be essential, along with sound judgement, empathy, and a practical approach to problem‑solving.
