The Opportunity:

We are currently seeking a Solutions Sales / Key Account Manager on a full-time basis to lead our NZ customer portfolio from Christchurch. In this role you will act as a trusted Solution Sales/KAM by aligning client needs with our solutions, drive customer success, grow account value, and ensure seamless end-to-end delivery within our Life Cycle Services framework.

Key responsibilities:

  • Direct Strategic Sales Experience (Customer-centric) Proven track record in complex/solution sales, ideally within the meat processing sector. Demonstrates deep understanding of processing workflows, customer economics, and “speaks the customer’s language.” Can translate operational pain points into a clear value proposition (ROI, yield, throughput, labour, compliance) and build multi-level relationships (operations, engineering, finance, exec).
  • Key Account Management (KAM) Experience owning and growing strategic accounts: account plans, stakeholder mapping, cadence meetings, cross-sell/upsell, and renewal strategies. Skilled at governance, issue escalation, and ensuring delivery teams meet agreed outcomes. Uses CRM (Salesforce/D365) for pipeline hygiene, forecasting accuracy, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Experience/Exposure in Engineering processes Experience and exposure in understanding the foundations of engineering concepts and how machines are designed mechanically and electrically.
  • Cross Team Coordination: Partner across Product, Engineering, Support, Operations, Innovation, Finance, and global business units (Protein NZ, Materials Handling EU) to champion customer needs and planning sessions, qualifying leads to close, maintaining forecast/pipeline, coordinating formal proposal reviews, aligning scope/cost/timeframes, ensuring smooth order-to-delivery handover.

About you:

  • 5 + years of experience in key account management or enterprise sales in the technical equipment sector.
  • In-depth knowledge and/or experience with the meat processing industry.
  • Proven success managing complex accounts and selling technical solutions.
  • Familiarity with automation products and solutions.
  • Familiarity with Protein processing sector.
  • Ability to cold call and market to a variety of potential customers.
  • Ability to build effective business relationships.
  • Excellent self-management skills, including record keeping and performance analysis
