Staff Services Manager Ii (Managerial)

Under the general direction of the Deputy Director of Regional Office Operations, the incumbent is responsible for leading and overseeing the Sequoia Regional Office operations and community-based projects, which include, but are not limited to: 1) engaging in and fully documenting collaborative partnerships and activities designed to improve support and services for people with intellectual/developmental and/or cross-disabilities and their families, in accordance with state and federal mandates; 2) engaging in systemic advocacy, capacity-building, and systemic change activities in the development and implementation of the Council’s 5-year strategic State Plan; 3) managing SCDD’s federal and/or state-funded (reimbursable interagency agreement) program activities; 4) participating in interagency, regional and/or state-level committee work, including leadership of Sequoia Regional Advisory Committee; 5) developing engaging curriculum and training materials targeting multiple learning modalities to meet the needs of individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD) and other stakeholders, and, 6) supervising and managing personnel, administrating support, and fiscal management functions. This position requires travel, as well as working some evenings and weekends.

Working Conditions

This position is eligible for hybrid telework under California Government Code Section 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California. All telework schedules are subject to change and may be reevaluated at any time. Specific telework arrangements may be discussed in more detail with the respective hiring manager.

To meet the needs of the SCDD Sequoia Regional Office, evening and weekend work is frequently required, as is overnight travel on occasion, within the region, to Sacramento, or other areas of the state.

The State Council on Developmental Disabilities (SCDD) is an independent state agency mandated by federal and state law to pursue systemic change, capacity-building, and advocacy to promote a person-centered consumer and family-based system of services and supports for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) and/or crossed disabilities. The goal of the federal law is to enable individuals with I/DD (self-advocates) to maximize their self-determination, independence, productivity, and community integration and inclusion. The State Council (Council) consists of 31 voting individual, family, and agency members, all of whom are appointed by the Governor.

Statement of Qualifications

When completing the SOQ, you must title the page “Statement of Qualifications” and include your name and the Job Control number at the top of each page. 5. Detail your understanding of the interplay of California state agencies and regional service entities supporting people with I/DD.
6. Describe your experience leading complex, high-impact projects from initiation through completion. How did you ensure cross-functional collaboration, timely execution, and measurable outcomes?
