We are an independently owned and operated Red Wing Shoe Store, that specializes in higher end work footwear in a full-service sales environment. We are looking for a Full- time Store Manager to join our team of dedicated employees who enjoys the challenge of working in face-to-face sales and is driven by success.

Job Description:

  • We are looking for someone who has the energy and drive to succeed, while also enjoys helping others - whether it's the customer on the sales floor looking for that perfect fitting boot, the industrial sales account that needs a workable boot program or training fellow employees - if you think you have what it takes to manage a successful Red Wing Shoe store, we would love to meet you!
  • Responsible for the overall operations of the store. We are a small business - we do it all!
  • Maximize sales and drive profitable growth.
  • Manage store personnel in areas of recruiting, hiring, coaching, training and performance.
  • Accountable for profit and loss at the store level.
  • Build and promote operational effectiveness in all areas - build revenue, maintain margins, profit growth and expense control.
  • Responsible for inventory control and accuracy.
  • Set the standard and high expectations for excellent customer service through utilizing Red Wings UFX system with each and every customer, to ensure proper fit and repeat customers.
  • Ensure policies, practices and standards are consistently executed.
  • Promote and support the high-quality Red Wing brand image with consistent professionalism in all areas of the job.
  • Analyze market needs and opportunities and respond accordingly to ensure growth.
  • Responsible for maintaining and growing of Industrial accounts within your area.
  • Practice industrial sales lead development on the sales floor and in the community. Attend Industrial events as needed
  • Lead by example at all times – hold self and others accountable.

Qualifications:

  • 2 - 4 years of secondary education and 3-5 years of retail and/or industrial experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership. Effective manager of people, supporting employee development and performance excellence.
  • Retail operations expertise.
  • Dependability and flexibility with scheduled work shifts. Ability to attend industrial and community events outside of normal store hours.
  • Profit and loss accountability
  • Strategic thinking and planning.
  • Analytical mindset for forecasting, inventory and expense management, profitability and consumer selling.
  • Demonstrated team player - learning from and encouraging other's
  • Results oriented - meet/exceed sales metrics both personally and as a team on a consistent basis
  • Time management skills - approach daily tasks and projects with energy and a sense of urgency, ability to juggle multiple responsibilities and tasks
  • Effective Written/Verbal Communication skills - professionally interact with customers and co-workers in a high-end retail environment
  • Demonstrate a passion for our Brand - have energy, excitement and take pride in working with the Red Wing Brand and our customer base
  • Demonstrate a passion for learning and growing in the footwear industry - we are looking for a long-term employee who enjoys working with people and wants to be part of the footwear industry
  • Critical thinking and ability to handle problem solving and making decisions
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage with all customers, Industrial contacts and vendors effectively and professionally.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Must possess a high level of integrity.

Physical Demands:

*Lifting up to 50+ pounds, bending, kneeling, lacing shoes, and climbing a ladder. Must be okay spending long hours on your feet.
