Substitute Teacher

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Substitute Teacher to join our educational team. This individual would be on call to cover all or part of a regular teaching day (7:30 to 3:30) or after school (4-6). The ideal candidate will have a passion for nurturing young minds and the ability to create a positive learning environment. This role is essential in maintaining continuity of education in the absence of regular teachers, ensuring that students remain engaged and supported in their learning journey.

Duties

• Implement lesson plans provided by the regular teacher, ensuring that educational objectives are met.
• Foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively, promoting respect and cooperation among students.
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate diverse learning styles and needs, including those of students with autism.
• Provide support in subjects such as Math and Early Childhood Education, utilizing effective tutoring techniques when necessary.
• Engage with students through interactive activities that promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Maintain open communication with school staff regarding student progress and any challenges encountered during instruction.
• Assist in lesson planning when required, contributing innovative ideas to enhance the curriculum.

Experience
Candidates should possess experience working with students in various educational settings, including private schools or Montessori environments. Preferred qualifications include:

• Background in Early Childhood Education or related fields.
• Experience in tutoring or providing individualized support to students.
• Familiarity with lesson planning and classroom management strategies.
• A strong understanding of child development principles, particularly for children with special needs such as autism.
• Previous childcare experience is advantageous, demonstrating a commitment to fostering a nurturing educational atmosphere.
