The Role and Opportunity

AgResearch is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated students to join us for a Summer Internship program. These are aimed at students who are currently undertaking tertiary study and will run from 20 November 2023 until 9 February 2024. This is an exciting opportunity for you to experience what your professional career at a Crown Research Institute could be like - to gain exposure to the Science community, developing skills, and creating connections that will set you up for a bright career.
This role is based in Lincoln, Canterbury. .

The Project

This project will take the lead role in creating/editing resource outputs for our project - Catch Crops for Cleaner Freshwater.
We have a Facebook page and have been using short video clips to showcase our science and seek assistance with the following key tasks, creating short videos by editing existing video footage, capturing new video footage of catch crop trials, on-farm demonstrations and results, helping to interview farmers on video and then edit into short, comprehensive and compelling video clips, helping to manage our social media channels, helping draft media outputs and industry communications including press releases and articles.

Your Ideal Background

• Currently studying in a relevant tertiary course such as Communications or Media.
• Videography and video editing skills are a must as is experience with using video editing software and putting people at ease in front of the camera.
• A drivers licence is required.
• Demonstrates safe workplace behaviour by taking all practicable steps to ensure own and other’s safety in the workplace.
