Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) Intern

Position Overview
Reporting to the Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager, the EH&S Intern will support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of safety, health, and environmental programs across the organization. This position provides hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment and offers exposure to regulatory compliance, risk assessment, employee training, incident investigation, and safety culture initiatives.
Requirements:Position Responsibilities
- Promote Safety as the Number One priority of all OMG employees.
- Assist in conducting workplace safety audits and hazard assessments.
- Support incident investigations using root cause analysis methods and assist in developing corrective actions.
- Help maintain EH&S documentation, including training records.
- Participate in safety training sessions and help develop training materials.
- Support chemical inventory management, including tracking hazardous materials, verifying container labeling, and ensuring compliance with Hazard Communication requirements.
- Assist in maintaining and organizing Safety Data Sheets (SDS), ensuring accessibility and accuracy in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Position Requirements
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Strong interest in workplace safety, regulatory compliance, and environmental stewardship.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Positive “can do” attitude and willingness to learn.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in high noise areas and wear appropriate hearing protection devices.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, safety shoes, and hearing protection.
- Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, and navigate manufacturing areas.
- Ability to use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments.

Compensation: $18/hour
