GPS Technology and Application Support aims to strategically develop, strengthen and align the software engineering expertise within the GPS division covering Execution, Sales and Trading.

We are seeking a motivated and technically inclined intern to support our ongoing efforts in improving IT service management and operational efficiency within the team. You will be helping to deliver solutions that drive actionable reporting for senior management, automating the team’s workflows and integrating processes and knowledge with Julius Baer AI (JAI).

As part of the GPS Application Support team in Singapore, the individual will embark on a dynamic 8-12 week programme combining day-to-day business activities and challenging projects. The individual will benefit from getting exposure to the opportunities and challenges of the wealth management technology

YOUR CHALLENGE

People management

  • Contribute to the strengthening of the team spirit and the fostering of a collaborative work environment

Client management (internal & external)

  • Drive Actionable Reporting for Leadership Insights: Contribute to the design and development of incident tracking solutions that transform raw operational data into clear, actionable reports for senior stakeholders—helping strengthen decision-making and service accountability.
  • Enhance Enterprise Knowledge Discovery with Julius Baer AI (JAI): Play a key role in bringing institutional knowledge to life by integrating Confluence-based documentation into JAI, making critical information easier to find, contextualise, and act upon across IT support functions.
  • Automate Everyday Support Workflows: Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort by building smart automation solutions for routine IT support tasks—freeing up time for higher-value activities and improving overall team efficiency.

Business management

  • Support the team’s strategic objectives and operational goals, driving business outcomes and results
  • Identify opportunities to enhance functional efficiency and productivity, proposing process improvements and workflow optimisations, where relevant/appropriate

Regulatory responsibilities &/or risk management

  • Meet all legal, regulatory, and compliance standards/requirements
  • Adhere to the standards and expectations outlined in the relevant user manuals and guidelines
  • Demonstrate appropriate values and behaviours including, but not limited to standards on honesty and integrity, due care and diligence, fair dealing (treating customers fairly), management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, adequate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations

Professional & technical

  • Students currently enrolled in an undergraduate programme from the second year of study onwards, or pursuing a Master’s degree, preferable in Computer Science, Information Systems or related fields.
  • Students with experience in developing automated solutions using programming languages such as python, java are strongly preferred.
  • Good command of financial analytical skills
  • Strong commercial judgement, business acumen and a broad understanding of the financial markets and products
