Queensland Metals Glencore is currently seeking to fill current staff vacancy that exists for a Metallurgy Superintendent within our Copper Processing department.

The Role
Reporting to the Manager – Copper Concentrator, you will lead a team and provide technical support for the Copper Concentrator. You will create capability within the team by leading, developing and mentoring technical personnel. This will be a full-time permanent role that offers an attractive remuneration package and benefits including market related superannuation and a strong focus on continuing your professional development.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Safety performance of the Copper Concentrator Metallurgy team.
  • Provision of technical support to Concentrator Operations and drive process improvements to deliver set production targets
  • Management of an operating expenditure budget along with key consumables and process control equipment.
  • Support the Mine-Mill-Smelter value chain
  • Provide leadership and guidance to promote a culture of safety and personal development of Metallurgists and Graduates
  • Optimize plant efficiencies with a view to reduce operational costs
You will have the following skillset and attributes:
  • 5+ years experience in Mineral Processing plants with strong base metals exposure to grinding and flotation.
  • Strong process improvement capabilities
  • Experience working with online analysers (OSA/MSA/PSI)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage planning, recovery and reconciliation data
  • Demonstrated ability to work safely in a Concentrator and to lead by example to a professional team
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels
