Mō te tūranga | About the Role

In this role you will be supporting two lovely seniors at a flat on site at our Barrington Street Campus.

Edna is in her late 70's but lively and strong willed with a great sense of humour. She enjoys indoor bowling, shopping and doing puzzles.

Martin is in his mid 60's and is quiet but with a thirst for knowledge and a keen interest in sports. Both flat mates need support with household tasks, especially healthy food options and well as personal cares for Edna. We need a confident, resilient person who is able to build strong relationships with the people we support and can apply boundaries or offer space as appropriate. You will need to be patient, empathetic, kind and have lots of perseverance as well as able to problem solve.

You will have the confidence to cook healthy meals from scratch and undertake accurate medication administration. You will be passionate about supporting people with an intellectual disability and helping them live a full life. If you are looking for a new challenge this could be the opportunity for you.

This position's salary scale is set by pay equity and dependant on qualification level, pays between $23.95 and $29.10 per hour.

• Sunday to Wednesday 9am to 1pm

Total Hours per fortnight: 32

Your aroha and approach is what really matters at Hōhepa – previous experience is not a prerequisite because we provide on-the-job training.
