  • $68,700 (FTE) + super and benefits

About us

Canteen is all about supporting young people and their families affected by cancer. Founded by young cancer patients, we offer programs and resources that truly make a difference for 12-25 year-olds facing their own diagnosis, supporting a loved one, or grieving. Together, we believe our team can create real change!

We are now seeking a Supporter Care Officer, who will play a pivotal role in maintaining high quality relationships with Canteen’s donors via inbound and outbound phone, email, SMS & web chat streams.   • Base salary + Superannuation + Not-For-Profit Salary Packaging (up to $18,550 of your salary tax-free).
  • 5 weeks Annual Leave (FTE) + 17.5% leave loading + pay during our annual office closure week.

About Our Role

  • Maintain high-quality relationships with Canteen's donors through inbound and outbound phone calls, emails, SMS, and web chat.
  • Provide exceptional customer service while identifying opportunities for donor retention and fundraising.
  • Handle inbound and outbound communications across all fundraising portfolios, including complaint resolution.
  • Process donations and accurately update donor information in Canteen’s systems.
  • Work in a fast-paced call centre environment engaging with new and existing donors.

About You

  • Superior customer service & retention skills essential
  • Experience in an Inbound/Outbound Call Centre highly desirable
  • Fundraising skills preferred
  • Resilient nature and comfortable with asking supporters for donations essential
  • Excellent database and data entry skills with strong attention to detail
  • Good computer skills, especially MS Office and familiarity with databases like Salesforce
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Team player with the ability to build internal and external relationships with ease.
  • A proactive and positive attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.

Employment Expectations

To ensure an ongoing commitment to the success of Canteen, all applications must be able to:

  • Successfully complete and maintain a current National Police Check and Working with Children Check relevant to the individual’s state jurisdiction.
  • Undergo an extensive screening process prior to appointment to guarantee the safety of all Canteen’s stakeholders.
  • Provide at least two direct referees to ensure a successful reference check is completed.
  • Provide relevant copies of professional qualification/s stated on the application.
