Surgery Resident / Resident Physician

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive surgical evaluations and plan operative interventions accordingly.
• Perform major abdominal, vascular, trauma and emergency surgical procedures safely.
• Manage pre-operative and post-operative patient care and monitor recovery.
• Collaborate effectively with anesthesiologists, nurses and multidisciplinary teams.
• Respond promptly to surgical emergencies and perform life-saving interventions.
• Maintain accurate surgical records, patient files and follow-up documentation.
• Ensure sterility, compliance with surgical protocols and infection control procedures.
• Continuously update knowledge of surgical advances and train junior staff.

Skill & Experience

• Excellent manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination and high precision surgical technique.
• Strong decision-making under pressure and ability to prioritise urgent cases.
• Effective interpersonal communication skills with patients, families and clinical teams.
• In-depth anatomical, physiological and surgical knowledge across multiple systems.
• Ability to work long hours, shift work and maintain surgical focus.
• Leadership and mentoring capability to guide junior surgeons and resident team.

Note: Salary is disbursed in the local currency of the country of employment.
