Sustainability Product Manager

ISS-Corporate (ICS) is seeking an experienced Sustainability Product Manager to work with our various business teams to develop and execute on our SaaS product roadmap for a suite of benchmarking, carbon accounting, and sustainability reporting solutions for corporations. The product manager will focus primarily on managing cloud-based sustainability products for the C-suite and sustainability departments of publicly-listed and privately companies across the globe, with the primary users being heads of Sustainability programs, General Counsels, Corporate Secretaries, heads of Investor Relations, and in some instances CEOs and members of the board of directors.
The ideal candidate will use their creativity and industry expertise to build and manage products for ICS’ industry-leading products and services. The Sustainability Product Manager will be a central part of the product team and manage one or several of the modules in the SaaS product, responsible for product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle. Responsibilities gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with colleagues in Product and Project Management, Research, Data Strategy, Development, Client Advisory, Sales and Marketing to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.
Key Objectives:
The ICS sustainability solutions business represents a key area of growth for the company, and this person is expected to be a key contributor and team player. We are looking to hire a passionate, experienced product manager who can:
  • Manage the life cycle of products, from strategic planning to tactical activities.
  • Solicit external market/client feedback on products through user groups, client consultations, beta programs.
  • Assess industry trends, market size, and needs through market research and competitive intelligence assessments.
  • Drive action across distinct functional teams, from product conception through launch.
  • Develop detailed business and functional requirement documents and specifications.
  • Develop product illustrations, prototypes, and supporting presentations based on an understanding of the user experience.
  • Gather and decompose abstract and complex details/concepts into business and functional requirements that can be understood by stakeholders including end users, developers, and testers.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Background Requirements:
  • Background as a product manager is required, preferably in a scrum/agile environment.
  • 4+ years of progressive experience in a corporate environment, a background in sustainability is a bonus but not required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in sustainability management, environmental science, engineering, business, or a related field.
Skills and Personal Attributes:
  • Strong leadership skills, and ability to work in teams in a cross-functional, global, diverse and multi-cultural environment.
  • Decisive, logical and experienced manager who’s able to follow-through independently.
  • Impeccable attention to detail and organization with strong problem-solving, prioritization skills, and time management.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to develop inter-personal relationships.
  • Product/project management, market research, trend analysis, technical writing, and presentation skills.
  • A strong work ethic, self-motivated and able to work independently and follow through under minimal supervision.
  • Absolute personal and business integrity and drive to achieve product and company goals.
