Job Description

The Product Manager is responsible for driving the vision, strategy, and adaptive roadmap of the MEDIAN data platform. This role combines product thinking with technical depth, serving as the bridge between customer needs, business strategy, and the engineering teams building the platform. You’ll lead product discovery through user research, synthesize evidence into prioritized opportunities, negotiate scope with engineering managers, and own product outcomes — not just requirements. You’ll also evangelize the platform internally, building stakeholder buy-in and driving adoption across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead product discovery: conduct user interviews and research with engineering teams across Mirion to understand their data, analytics, and AI needs.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including product managers, business leaders, engineering teams, and customers.
  • Synthesize customer feedback, usage data, and technical insights from the Data Platform and Solutions teams into evidence-based product direction.
  • Own and maintain an adaptive product roadmap for the MEDIAN platform — one that evolves with real-world feedback rather than remaining a fixed plan.
  • Negotiate scope and shape increments with engineering managers, ensuring the roadmap translates into achievable, high-value deliverables.
  • Write clear product requirements and user stories that inform the work of platform and solutions engineers.
  • Perform opportunity sizing and business-case analysis to prioritize investments that are both impactful and viable.
  • Evangelize the platform internally — build stakeholder buy-in, drive adoption, and communicate the product vision across the organization.
  • Define measurable success criteria for every major initiative; track KPIs, adoption metrics, and customer satisfaction to validate outcomes.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive data platforms, and emerging technologies relevant to the space.
  • Present product vision and roadmap to leadership, customers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Take ownership of product outcomes, not just deliverables — close the loop from launch through post-launch evaluation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of product management or product strategy experience (not primarily project management or scrum-focused roles).
  • Experience as a product manager for a data-centric product — one where the core output involves machine learning, computer vision, statistics, or data-intensive processes.
  • Strong understanding of data platforms, data pipelines, and analytics use cases.
  • Demonstrated experience with product discovery: user interviews, use-case identification, and evidence-based prioritization.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to evangelize a product vision internally.
  • Ability to define success metrics, perform opportunity sizing, and make data-driven prioritization decisions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with limited resources.
  • Proficiency with data concepts (SQL, ETL, data modeling, cloud platforms).
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage competing interests across teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior individual technical contributor experience (data engineer, data analyst, ML engineer, solutions engineer, or similar) before moving into product management.
  • Experience at a startup or in a greenfield product-building environment.
  • Experience working in regulated industries or with complex compliance requirements.
  • Experience with modern data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, etc.) and/or knowledge of analytics, ML/AI, and data science use cases.
  • Familiarity with the nuclear energy, medical imaging, or similar high-stakes industries.
  • Experience building platforms and tools for internal engineering teams.
  • Track record of measurable product outcomes — not just launches, but demonstrated impact on adoption, revenue, or efficiency.
  • Experience with agile development and product development methodologies.
