Technical Support Engineer

As a Technical Support Engineer you will join our client site in the Pharmaceutical sector. This job is based in a cutting-edge facility in Grange Castle, Dublin.

Working within the Plant Engineering Team to lead technical investigations related to process, utility and laboratory instrumentation.

Responsibilities:

• Lead quality system technical investigations, commitments and where required change controls relating to corrective and preventative actions associated with the execution of maintenance and calibration activity within the responsibility of Plant Engineering.
• Complete monthly periodic reviews of measurement system asset performance on sitewide instrumentation to formulate preventive action in areas of maintenance/calibration frequency, tolerance assignments and adjustment limits, technology (innovative drift detection systems).
• Develop appropriate asset care strategies for validation and calibration test equipment.
• Compile reliability data and report on test equipment performance, such as but not limited to asset availability, MTBF, MTTR, PM:CM ratio, condition monitoring etc. identifying appropriate improvement strategies.
• Complete and maintain compliance with assigned training curricula relating to the assigned role
• Collaborate with peers within the technical support engineering team to manage workflow lead times within defined KPI’s and to provide status updates periodically
• Other activities as prescribed by the Plant Engineering Manager as priorities within the department change to adapt to site needs
• An understanding of:
  • Calibration and validation test equipment recertification practices and standards
  • Engineering terminology, in particular units of measure, a distinct advantage.
  • Experience working in an ISO17025 calibration laboratory
  • Knowledge of instrument failure modes and impact on measurement integrity

Skills Required:

• Degree in engineering or science discipline ideally a level 8
• Certificate in six sigma an advantage
• 1/2years industrial experience in Pharma or Biopharma or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of GMP.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook, Teams
• An ability to work independently as well as a member of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and to have an appetite for continuous improvement.
• Strong time management, organizational, planning, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Data analytics/Lean/Six Sigma training desirable with an aptitude for continuous improvement.
