Trademark Paralegal

• Assist IP lawyers concerning trademarks and copyrights.
• Draft legal correspondence to various IP clients for lawyer’s review.
• Prepare and file trademark-related documents with the Intellectual Property Office (IPO) via online (i.e. trademark applications, Declarations of Actual Use, Renewal and Recordals).
• Conduct trademark searches on the availability of mark/s for use and registration.
• Conduct follow-ups with the IPO on the status and release of documents such as Trademark Certificate of Registration, Certificate for Correction, Notices of Recordation and Acceptance, as necessary.
• Answer clients’ trademark-related queries.
• Prepare summaries and status reports for trademark cases for clients.
• Follow up status of IP cases with the Bureau of Legal Affairs.
• Prepare documents needed for filing to secure a Certificate of Copyright registration.
• Monitor new memoranda and circulars published by the IPO, and update the department accordingly.
• Perform other jobs in the Department that may be assigned.

Education: Graduate of any 4 – year course, relevance to law practice preferred
Experience: With 3 years work experience in trademark application, prosecution, and maintenance of trademarks. Experience in assisting lawyers is an advantage
