Overview
Nikbakht Law is seeking a skilled and confident lawyer or paralegal with courtroom advocacy experience to join our growing legal team. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in legal research, drafting, and case management, and is comfortable representing clients in Provincial Offences Court. This is a dynamic, hands-on role for someone passionate about advocacy, access to justice, and practical litigation.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent clients in Provincial Court for summary conviction matters (e.g., traffic and regulatory offences), Court under supervision or as permitted by law.
- Prepare case files for hearings, trials, and pre-trial conferences, including drafting pleadings, notices, affidavits, and submissions.
- Conduct legal research to support courtroom strategy and ensure compliance with applicable legislation and court rules.
- Communicate with clients, opposing parties, court staff, and witnesses in a professional and effective manner.
- Attend and advocate in court proceedings (in-person or virtual), negotiate resolutions, and assist with settlements.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation throughout all stages of the case lifecycle.
- Assist in internal case tracking, deadlines, and follow-ups using our firm’s legal management systems.
- Assist with firms office administration needs, such as, answering calls, emails, meeting with clients and managing the firms overall internal administration needs.
Qualifications
- Completion of a law, Paralegal, or Law Clerk program.
- Experience advocating in court (particularly Provincial Offences) is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of courtroom procedure, legal drafting, and file preparation.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to handle multiple files and deadlines with attention to detail.

Job Type: Full-time
Contract length: 240 months
Pay: $30,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
