Transport Planner

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Transport Planner to join our dynamic team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating and optimising the transportation of our products, ensuring efficient delivery schedules, and minimising transportation costs.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the smooth operation of our supply chain and logistics network.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and maintain effective transportation strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products to customers.

2. Coordinate with internal teams to ensure accurate forecasting of transportation needs based on production schedules and customer demands.

3. Collaborate with logistics partners and carriers to negotiate transportation contracts and secure competitive pricing.

4. Monitor and optimise transportation routes to minimise delivery time and fuel consumption while adhering to regulatory guidelines.

5. Maintain accurate records of transportation activities, including shipments, expenses, and delivery times, utilising appropriate software systems.

6. Address any transportation-related issues promptly, including delays, damages, and customer complaints, and provide effective solutions.

7. Analyse transportation data and generate reports to identify trends, areas for improvement, and cost-saving opportunities within the transportation network.

8. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards in the transportation of goods.

9. Continuously evaluate and improve the efficiency of the transportation network through the implementation of innovative technologies and industry best practices.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From €30,000.00 per year

• Louth, County Louth: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

• Qualifications:

1. Primary qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field desirable.
2. Experience in a similar role advantageous - full training will be provided.
3. Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, logistics processes, and supply chain management advantageous.
4. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
5. Effective communication and negotiation skills to interact with internal teams, external vendors, and customers.
