Life at Fulton Hogan is about making the most of opportunities, taking responsibility, having a crack, being accountable and making it happen. We live by our REAL values - Respect, Energy & Effort, Attitude, Leadership - and we demonstrate these through the good work we do, every day, as one team.

Join our team in Palmerston North as the IDC TTM Engineer

Fulton Hogan is proud to have acquired the NZTA Integrated Delivery Contract (IDC) for Manawatū-Whanganui, taking responsibility for the majority of state highway maintenance and renewals across the region. Join our dedicated team and help deliver high-quality, efficient road services that keep communities connected and safe, all while working in a supportive and rewarding environment.
As TTM Engineer you will be responsible for ensuring traffic is managed safely and efficiently around roadworks, maintenance activities, and events that affect the network. You will assess work sites to understand risks to road users, workers, pedestrians, and cyclists, considering factors such as speed environment, traffic volumes, nearby intersections, and surrounding land use. You will provide practical advice on how works should be staged, when they should occur (for example, night works or off‑peak periods), and what traffic management arrangements are needed to keep people safe while enabling the project to progress.
In addition to the above you will:
  • Coordinate traffic management crews and subcontractors to ensure correct setups are implemented on site and maintained to the required standard
  • Brief crews on safety and compliance requirements
  • Work closely with department managers and NZTA
  • Liaise with emergency services and public transport operators where needed
  • Respond to issues that arise in the field, such as unexpected congestion, incidents, or weather changes
  • Support monitoring and audits of temporary traffic management operations
  • Drive continuous improvement to lift safety and efficiency across all temporary traffic management activities
