Your Title: UI Design Intern Job Location: Christchurch, NZ Our Department: CTCT (Caterpillar Trimble Control Technologies) Internship Period: 18th November 2024 - 14th Feb 2025 Recruitment Timeline: Interviewing May/June, offer by Mid-July Number of Positions: 1 Are you interested in an internship opportunity where you get visual design experience with a world leading software product that goes with the world's leading heavy equipment brands such as Caterpillar, Hitachi and Doosan? Join our 2024/2025 cohort, for a paid internship this summer! What You Will Do Our UI Design team creates icons, illustrations and instructional diagrams that are both beautiful and easy to use, and this internship will give you real world experience working in a UX team environment, with a range of roles and career pathways. If you’re a motivated and talented graphic designer that is passionate about interning as part of our NZ UX team for the summer, helping us improve our grade control software, Earthworks, we want to hear from you! You will be working within the NZ arm of a global UX team with members in 4 locations across the planet, and you will get practical experience in a range of design areas.

• Asset creation: Learn our visual style and apply to new assets and updating existing assets to new corporate standards
• Migration of assets: Redesign and realignment of existing assets such as wiring diagrams to suit a new system
• Asset update and support: Provide UI design support to a range of projects deploying Web and Android software on Motor Graders, Excavators, Asphalt Pavers, Dozers and more across many brands.

What Skills & Experience You Should Bring

• Currently studying diploma or bachelor’s in a design related field
• Graphic design experience or study with Illustrator and Photoshop
• Great attention to detail and communication skills
• Tidy file management practices
• Strong team and time management/task management skills
• Comfortable learning and working with technical concepts
• Knowledge of electrical schematics/diagrams (desirable, but not essential)
