Bakery Assistant

The Great British Shop is looking for a reliable Bakery Assistant to join our production team in Bayers Lake.

This is a hands-on bakery role for someone who wants to learn a proper skill and be trained across different parts of bakery production. You do not need to be an experienced baker, but you do need to be dependable, willing to learn and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

This position could suit someone with experience as a line cook, kitchen helper, prep cook, bakery worker, production assistant or anyone used to staying organized while working quickly.

About the role

You’ll be helping with a variety of bakery tasks, including prep work, pastry production, filling pies, making sausage rolls, packing products, keeping work areas clean and supporting the bakery team with daily production.

Training will be provided, but we are looking for someone who takes pride in doing things properly and can follow recipes, systems and instructions carefully.

• Reliable, punctual and ready to work
• Able to start at 6:00 a.m. in Bayers Lake
• Comfortable in a fast-paced kitchen or production environment
• Willing to learn new skills
• Able to follow instructions and work as part of a team
• Good attention to detail
• Comfortable standing for most of the shift
• Previous kitchen, bakery, food production or line cook experience is helpful, but not essential

The bakery starts early, so you must have reliable transport and be able to arrive in Bayers Lake ready to begin work at 6:00 a.m.

Pay: $17.00-$20.00 per hour
