Chef/Cook- Part Time

The Provincial Bar & Lounge is a newly opened neighbourhood bar and restaurant in Edmonton. We are looking for an experienced, dependable, and hands-on Chef/Cook to lead our kitchen team and help us maintain consistent, high-quality food and smooth daily operations.

Our menu includes elevated pub favourites, burgers, wings, pastas, bowls, seafood, butter chicken, and shareable appetizers. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their food, leads by example, and understands the importance of consistency, cleanliness, cost control, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise all daily kitchen operations
  • Maintain consistent food quality, presentation, portion sizes, and preparation standards
  • Train, schedule, coach, and support kitchen employees
  • Ensure food is prepared and served accurately and efficiently
  • Monitor inventory and complete food ordering
  • Manage food costs, waste, portion control, and kitchen labour
  • Maintain proper food preparation, storage, labelling, and rotation procedures
  • Ensure the kitchen meets all Alberta Health Services requirements
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen
  • Assist with menu development, daily specials, recipes, and food-cost calculations
  • Work closely with ownership and the front-of-house management team
  • Take an active cooking role during busy services
  • Help create a positive, respectful, and accountable kitchen culture

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-2 years of professional kitchen experience
  • Previous experience as a Chef, Kitchen Manager, Sous Chef, or similar leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, inventory management, ordering, food costing, and labour control
  • Experience preparing high-volume pub or casual-dining food
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to remain calm and organized during busy services
  • Knowledge of food-safety standards and Alberta Health Services requirements
  • Food Safety Certification is preffered.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required

Schedule

This is a leadership position requiring flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and busy event nights.
