About the Position

We are looking for a hands-on Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee and grow our portfolio of convenience stores and fuel operations across Oklahoma, Colorado, and Arkansas. This role is based in Dallas and requires regular travel to store locations.

The ideal candidate has practical experience managing gas stations and convenience stores, understands the day-to-day challenges of the industry, and can lead teams while driving operational excellence and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of a multi-state convenience store and fuel portfolio.
• Lead and support regional managers and store teams to achieve operational and financial goals.
• Monitor and improve key performance metrics, including:
• Fuel sales and margins
• Inside sales
• Labor costs
• Inventory and shrinkage
• Customer service standards
• Develop and implement operating procedures and best practices.
• Manage vendor and supplier relationships.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and all applicable regulations.
• Work closely with ownership to develop growth strategies and improve profitability.
• Assist with the integration and operational transition of newly acquired stores.
• Travel regularly to store locations to provide leadership and operational oversight.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in convenience store and/or gas station operations.
• Experience managing multiple store locations.
• Strong understanding of fuel operations, merchandising, inventory control, and retail management.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Ability to analyze financial and operational reports and implement improvements.
• Willingness to travel extensively throughout Oklahoma, Colorado, and Arkansas.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

No MBA or advanced degree required. Practical industry experience is valued over formal education.

Preferred Experience

• Multi-unit convenience store management.
• Experience with acquisitions or bringing new stores into an existing portfolio.
• Knowledge of inventory systems, POS systems, and retail reporting.
• Experience improving store profitability and operational efficiency.
