Compensation: $28–$35/hour (Depending on Experience) + Benefits

Job Summary

We are a premier California paving contractor seeking a skilled, motivated, and reliable Class A Driver / Paving Operator to join our crew. This is a hybrid role for a true utility player who can safely pick up and haul materials to the job site, load, secure, and move equipment between project locations, and step off the truck to assist the ground crew with labor. Experience operating grading and paving equipment is a plus. If you want a dynamic role where you are not just sitting behind the wheel all day, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

• Safe Hauling: Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles (including dump trucks, end dumps, or lowboys) to transport asphalt, aggregates, and heavy equipment to and from paving sites.
• Equipment Operation: Operate asphalt paving equipment such as rollers, pavers, loaders, and skid steers safely and efficiently.
• On-Site Laboring: Step out of the cab and work on the ground with the crew, assisting with raking, shoveling, setting up traffic control, and site cleanup as needed.
• Daily Maintenance: Conduct thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections (DVIR) and perform basic preventative maintenance on trucks and equipment.
• Compliance: Strictly adhere to all CA DMV, DOT, and OSHA safety regulations.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Licensing: Valid California Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Driving Record: Clean DMV printout (MVR) with no recent major infractions or DUI convictions.
• Asphalt Experience: Proven experience specifically within the asphalt paving industry.
• Transmission Skills: Ability to operate manual transmissions (10-speed / 18-speed) is highly preferred.
• Physical Fitness: Capability to work in hot, outdoor conditions and lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
