Mō te tūranga | About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Manager Risk and Compliance within Consumer Banking and Wealth (CBW), you will be responsible for supporting the identification, management, and monitoring of Compliance Risks within CBW. You will also assist senior management to deliver better business outcomes through the provision of pro-active compliance risk insight, advice, and solutions. This role will have a specialistion requirement for Privacy and Financial Advice related compliance.
Some key responsibilities in this role include:
Ensuring the correct obligations and controls to ensure compliance with regulation are in place.
Providing sound advice to CBW to enable them to understand compliance risks.
Assisting and managing general queries from the front line (including Level One approvals), ensuring appropriate and timely advice is provided in compliance with regulation and policies.
Work with change initiatives to ensure that compliance risks are considered and implemented.
Capturing and collating related data, analysis and preparation of reporting to drive effective financial crime and compliance risk management and monitoring.
Playing a crucial role in helping CBW uplift risk culture maturity.
Reducing the potential impact of current and emerging compliance risks for our customers, focusing on education and preventative measures to protect both our customers and WNZL’s reputation.
Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?
- Work experience of 5+ years in the financial services industry with a strong knowledge of the NZ financial services industry with 3+ years in Compliance, or similar risk discipline.
- Strong Knowledge of Privacy and Financial Advice regulatory guidelines.
- Strong technical knowledge of Westpac's core banking systems.
- Tertiary Qualification in a relevant business field i.e. Business/Commerce or Legal.
- ACAMS accredited preferred.
- Familiar with the 3LOD operating model.
- Knowledge of, and experience in retail banking.
- CCCFA knowledge will be advantageous.
