VP Sales
The Vice President of Sales is charged with identifying potential new market segments within the agriculture, manufacturing, and industrial segments. The goal is to identify diverse opportunities in national agriculture businesses. A key focus is the understanding of the above market segment conditions and trends to maximize sales efforts. This role is a crucial contributor in growing Henning’s diverse book of business. This position serves as salesperson and public representative of Henning in the above market segments.
Safety
- Be an advocate for Henning’s safety culture, always doing the right thing, and promote safety of those around you
- Communicate with all customers Henning’s culture of safety, safety record, and safety policies
Building Relationships
- Be committed to developing lasting relationships, both internally and externally; always maintaining respect and professionalism
- Build internal relationships to foster open, honest and trustworthy communication across all departments
- Build and maintain relationships with current and potential customers in targeted agricultural markets
- Network with customers, potential customers, architects, designers and vendors to identify new project leads
- Build relationships by being a known presence at agricultural community and customer events, trade shows, industry events, groundbreaking and ribbon cutting events, etc
- Be involved with agricultural industry trade associations and organizations to benefit the industry and enhance Henning’s relationships with existing and potential customers
Focus on End Goals
- Maintain a team oriented and results driven mentality; we are vital to each other’s success
- Incorporate Henning’s story into agricultural marketing message
- Identify and network with high value customers in targeted markets
- Identify opportunities to develop and strengthen relationships to advance the business
- Drive lead identification and generation
- Work with business development team to identify appropriate events to attend that will have the most impact and utilize department resources effectively.
- Manage personal travel aligned with the business development budget
- Provide basic support for all departments as needed, along with other assigned duties
Drive Innovation
- Work with marketing team on strategies to have the most impact in each market to advance the business’ footprint in all areas
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred
- 10+ years’ experience successfully leading sales initiatives or projects, construction industry experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
- Exceptional communication and effective listening skills
- Ability to read people and adapt your approach to achieve results
- Effective contributor and team player
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) as well as online platforms

Travel Expectations
- Frequent overnight travel expected by plane or car
Work Environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently in an office environment, 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally when in a trade show/presentation environment
- Occasional activities of office environment include balancing, bending/stooping, reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion
- Frequent activities of office environment include sitting, standing, walking, typing and other computer work, using telephone and other standard office equipment
