This recruitment process is intended to create a merit pool for future vacancies, with limited immediate roles available.
The Data Officer will coordinate and undertake workforce reporting administration and maintain the quality of data used in the Workforce Planning and Reporting (WFPR) team. This position is accountable for data management activities and delivery of moderately complex reporting outcomes. The role supports data integrity and data-driven decision-making within the organisation.
Role responsibilities
The Data Officer's responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- High quality production and maintenance of HR reporting including interrogation, data visualisation and delivery of reporting outcomes for both routine and non-routine tasks within established standards.
- Workforce reporting administration and coordination including (but not limited to), inbox and ticket management, stakeholder management, problem solving and resolution management and data cleaning, transformation, access, upload and refresh using relevant people metric reporting systems and tools such as Power BI, Microsoft Excel, SAP or other relevant systems.
- Preparing both routine and ad hoc reports for internal and external stakeholders including supporting the Bureau to meet its obligations to report on workforce matters to central agencies and Senate Estimates.
- Assist in the maintenance of data practices and procedures and contribute to innovative process improvement strategies within WFPR. Liaise with HR, finance and other business units to investigate and resolve data discrepancies, ensuring accurate and consistent workforce reporting outcomes.
