Is currently looking for:

EHS OFFICER (URGENT)

The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Officer is responsible for ensuring full compliance with all applicable EHS laws and regulations by implementing and monitoring the company’s EHS Management System. This includes conducting regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and compliance audits, leading emergency preparedness and response initiatives, and investigating incidents to recommend corrective and preventive actions. The role also involves promoting a strong safety culture among tenants, contractors, and employees, coordinating with government agencies on safety and environmental matters, and monitoring contractor and tenant adherence to established safety requirements.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with DOLE OSHS, Fire Code, and DENR regulations.
  • Maintain updated permits, licenses, and accreditations (e.g., SO2, PCO).
  • Prepare and submit required compliance reports to government agencies.
  • Assist management during regulatory inspections and audits.

Safety Inspections & Risk Management

  • Conduct routine building and site safety inspections.
  • Perform Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Risk Assessments.
  • Identify unsafe acts and conditions; issue corrective action notices.
  • Monitor closure of safety findings and compliance gaps.

Emergency Preparedness & Response

  • Develop and update Emergency Response Plans (ERP).
  • Organize fire drills and emergency simulation exercises.
  • Lead Emergency Response Team (ERT) coordination.
  • Ensure emergency equipment (FDAS, fire extinguishers, alarms) are inspected and functional.

Incident Management

  • Investigate accidents, near misses, and safety violations.
  • Conduct root cause analysis.
  • Recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Prepare incident reports and submit to management and authorities if required.

Environmental Management

  • Monitor waste segregation and disposal compliance.
  • Oversee pollution control measures.
  • Coordinate environmental testing and monitoring (if applicable).
  • Promote sustainability initiatives within the property.

Contractor & Tenant Safety Management

  • Conduct safety orientation for new tenants and contractors.
  • Review contractor Method Statements and Safety Plans.
  • Monitor hot works, confined space works, and other high-risk activities.
  • Enforce work permit systems (PTW).

Training & Safety Awareness

  • Conduct toolbox meetings and safety briefings.
  • Develop safety awareness campaigns.
  • Maintain safety training records and documentation.
  • Provide first aid assistance when necessary.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain safety logs, inspection reports, and compliance tracker.
  • Prepare monthly EHS performance reports.
  • Monitor safety KPIs and recommend improvements.
  • Support ISO documentation (if applicable).

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science/occupational safety & health/engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Industrial)/Public Health or related field
  • At least 2–3 years of experience in commercial building operations/construction safety/property management/industrial or manufacturing safety
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, regulatory compliance monitoring, safety audits and inspections
  • Knowledge of: Occupational Safety & Health Standards (OSHS), DOLE regulations, DENR environmental regulations, Fire Code of the Philippines, Disaster Risk Reduction & Management principles
  • Ability to: develop Risk Assessments & Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), prepare safety reports & compliance documents, conduct toolbox meetings & safety orientations, implement Emergency Response Plans, monitor contractor safety compliance
  • Core Skills: strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent documentation and report writing, leadership and assertiveness, good communication and coordination skills, detail-oriented with strong compliance mindset, ability to handle emergency situations calmly
  • Behavioral Competencies: high integrity and ethical standards, proactive and observant, strong sense of accountability, firm but diplomatic in enforcement, safety-driven mindset
  • Physical Requirements: able to conduct field inspections (outdoor & indoor), can respond to emergency situations at any time, physically fit to perform site walkthroughs

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

  • DOLE-accredited Safety Officer 2 (SO2) minimum (SO3/SO4 preferable)
  • Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) Training
  • First Aid & Basic Life Support (BLS-CPR-AED)
  • Fire Safety / Fire Brigade Training
  • Pollution Control Officer (PCO) Accreditation
