Exercise Physiologist

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive physical, functional, and health assessments for NDIS participants
  • Develop and implement individualised exercise programs aligned with participant goals and NDIS plans
  • Deliver safe, evidence-based exercise interventions to improve strength, mobility, balance, coordination, endurance, and daily function
  • Support participants with disabilities, chronic health conditions, neurological disorders, developmental conditions, and physical impairments
  • Monitor participant progress and modify exercise plans as needed
  • Provide education to participants, families, and support workers regarding exercise strategies and health management
  • Complete accurate clinical notes, progress reports, and outcome measures for NDIS reporting requirements
  • Prepare written reports for plan reviews, funding applications, and recommendations for ongoing supports
  • Collaborate with support coordinators, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, and other healthcare professionals
  • Promote participant independence, confidence, and community participation through movement-based interventions
  • Maintain compliance with NDIS Practice Standards, professional guidelines, and workplace policies

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology or Clinical Exercise Physiology
  • Current accreditation as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) with Exercise & Sports Science Australia
  • Experience working with people living with disability or complex health needs (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of person-centred care and goal-based intervention planning
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build rapport with participants and carers
  • Strong report-writing and documentation skills
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Current Working with Children Check (if required)
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Current driver’s licence and access to reliable transport (if community-based)

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience supporting participants with autism, cerebral palsy, acquired brain injury, intellectual disability, neurological conditions, or psychosocial disability
  • Knowledge of NDIS systems, documentation requirements, and plan review processes
  • Experience delivering home-based and community-based exercise interventions.

Pay: From $42.00 per hour
