General Accounting Supervisor

JOB SUMMARY:

The General Accounting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. This role supervises the accounting team, reviews financial records and reports, supports audits, and drives process improvements to enhance efficiency and internal controls. This position also assists in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support sound financial decision-making.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Supervise daily accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll

2. Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports

3. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements

4. Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

5. Coordinate internal and external audits and resolve audit findings

6. Monitor accounting team performance and provide coaching, training, and performance feedback

7. Improve accounting processes and internal controls for efficiency and accuracy

8. Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities

9. Perform other duties assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

2. At least3-5 years of relevant accounting experience, including supervisory experience

3. Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS)

4. Financial reporting and analysis

5. Taxation and statutory compliance

6. Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems

7. Advanced Excel and financial tools

8. Leadership and team supervision

9. Analytical and problem-solving skills

10. Attention to detail and accuracy

11. Effective communication and coordination

12. Time management and prioritization
