Be part of Consentium, New Zealand's first national Building Consent Authority (BCA). The team has recently celebrated five years of delivering consenting services exclusively to K inga Ora. Throughout its fiveyear journey, the team has achieved significant milestones including being recognised as Innovator of the Year at the Building Officials Institute of New Zealand Excellence Awards.

We have ambitious goals and with our own accredited BCA we can focus on providing homes at pace, leveraging scale and quality. We target residential and commercial state house builds as well as a comprehensive nationwide retrofit programme with an efficient, paperless, and compliant process.

Consentium has been operational for almost two and a half years and demonstrated consistently high performance. Volumes have grown steadily and Consentium's scope of work was expanded to include consenting services for all public housing stock that K inga Ora delivers.

Consentium has reached a steady state of maturity and has completed a holistic assessment to ensure appropriate resourcing is in place to meet K inga Ora business objectives. K inga Ora's public and supported housing build programme has delivered the highest number of new homes (2,893 in 2022/23) since the organisation's establishment in 2019. To continue to build at scale and pace there is a need to transform our delivery and increase productivity.

K inga Ora is undertaking the biggest public housing build programme in decades and a substantial construction programme is required to achieve our targets. Consentium needs to ensure it is adequately resourced with the right level of experience and expertise to deliver efficient consenting services.

Reporting to the Building Inspections Team Leader, you will work autonomously to deliver quality, consistent and compliant inspections across the region. Each day you'll manage your allocated workload through coordinating with your team mates, contractors on site, and other internal and external stakeholders. You'll provide guidance to others and process Codes of Compliance and compliance schedules. Your practical and positive approach, combined with relationship management and technical expertise, will support a high performing inspections environment where quality is the continued focus.

This is a national role and regular travel is a core requirement of the position. While this role would be based in a specific region, Inspectors are required to travel frequently across multiple regions throughout New Zealand as part of their normal duties. Applicants must be comfortable with ongoing regional travel and overnight stays where required.

Ng pumanawatanga ou - What you will bring

If you have on-the-tools experience in a residential construction or maintenance role coupled with a friendly and calming customer-focused approach, then we would like to hear from you.

Here's what you will bring to the role:

• Ideally, a relevant National Certificate (Level 4) building and or design qualification. Alternatively, you will have relevant experience within the building maintenance sector
• Ideally, a Diploma (Level 6) in Building Control Surveying and / or a recognised qualification in the building design and / or construction (Advanced Trade Certificate, NZCB, NZCD or equivalent)
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in building construction, maintenance or an inspections role
• Demonstrated people skills to achieve outcomes and sound customer approach when in homes
• Good building technical knowledge, application, and awareness
• Strong relevant legislative knowledge, application, and understanding
• You'll have a wealth of experience working with iwi and ropu M ori at a regional/national level
• As this role requires regular travel, a current full clean NZ driver's licence is essential
