Machine Operators - Npl (National Personnel Ltd)

NZ-wide construction recruitment and labour hire operator with experience in infrastructure and civil labour placements.

A Machine Operator at NPL is responsible for safely operating heavy machinery on construction, earthworks, infrastructure and civil works sites in New Zealand. This includes equipment like excavators, bulldozers, rollers, loaders or other specialised machines, depending on the job.

Typical Responsibilities:

Operate heavy plant and machinery (excavators, dozers, rollers, graders, loaders) to carry out earthmoving, site preparation and construction tasks.

Read site plans and work instructions, and follow directions from supervisors to complete tasks according to project needs.

Perform pre-operational machine checks and routine maintenance to ensure equipment is safe and functional.

Load and unload materials, dig trenches, level surfaces or carry out excavation work as required by the project’s scope.

Follow strict health & safety procedures on site including wearing PPE and complying with safety protocols.

Communicate with site personnel to ensure smooth workflow and job accuracy.

Work environment: Predominantly outdoor construction and civil sites; may involve varied weather, long hours and shift work depending on project schedules.

Skills & Requirements;

Experience operating heavy machinery and plant.

Appropriate machine licences/certifications (e.g., WTR, heavy vehicle licences) depending on the machinery.

Strong commitment to health & safety practices.

Pay: From $4,330.00 per month
