A Meat Processor at Blue Sky Pastures (formerly Blue Sky Meats) works in the company’s lamb and meat processing plant in Morton Mains, Southland, New Zealand. The role involves preparing, trimming, processing, packing, and handling meat products for export and local markets.

Job description:

Processing lamb and meat products on the production line

Trimming fat, removing defects, and preparing carcasses for further processing

Cutting, slicing, boning, or packing meat products

Maintaining strict hygiene and food safety standards

Operating processing machinery and equipment

Following workplace health and safety procedures, including PPE use

Working efficiently to meet production targets

Cleaning processing areas and tools after shifts

At Blue Sky Pastures, meat processors may also assist on slaughter boards, boning rooms, and packing operations depending on experience and shift allocation.

Skills and requirements:

Previous meat processing or factory experience preferred

Ability to work in cold environments and stand for long hours

Knowledge of hygiene and food safety standards

Good teamwork and communication skills

Physical fitness and attention to detail

Reliability and ability to work shifts

Pay: From $4,800.00 per month
