- Full Time
Our practice is looking for a compassionate, organized, and proactive Medical Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who finds genuine fulfillment in caring for people and enjoys guiding patients through an important experience—from their first questions before surgery to their final follow-up appointment.
While clinical skills are important, we’re equally looking for someone who builds trust easily, notices the details others miss, and takes pride in making every patient feel informed, prepared, reassured, and genuinely cared for throughout their surgical journey.
What You’ll Do
As our Medical Assistant and Surgical Care Coordinator, you will play a central role in both patient care and the daily operation of our practice.
Responsibilities include:
- Coordinate patients throughout the surgical process, from scheduling through recovery
- Serve as a primary point of contact for patient questions before and after surgery
- Triage patient concerns and communicate with the physician as appropriate
- Coordinate medical clearances and ensure all pre-operative requirements are completed
- Provide patient education and reinforce pre-operative and post-operative instructions
- Assist with in-office procedures and surgeries
- Prepare, organize, and stock clinical and procedure areas
- Monitor inventory and ensure supplies, equipment, and treatment rooms are consistently prepared
- Help identify opportunities to improve workflows and the overall patient experience
- Collaborate closely with the physician and administrative team to provide exceptional care
Who Thrives Here
Our best team members are people who naturally take ownership.
They don’t wait to be told what needs attention—they notice it, solve problems, and look for ways to make life easier for both patients and coworkers.
The ideal candidate is:
- Warm, compassionate, and emotionally intelligent
- Calm, reassuring, and professional when patients are anxious
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
- A clear and confident communicator
- Comfortable balancing multiple priorities in a busy specialty practice
- Resourceful, curious, and eager to continue learning
- Comfortable asking questions and following through until they have the information they need
- Confident communicating with physicians while always advocating for excellent patient care
- Able to receive direct feedback professionally and continue moving forward with a positive attitude
- Someone who values accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
You enjoy creating order, anticipating needs before they’re voiced, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks. You understand that every detail matters because every detail contributes to a safe, seamless, and reassuring patient experience.
Our Team Culture
We’re a small practice, and we genuinely work as a team. While every team member has primary responsibilities, we believe great patient care is everyone’s responsibility.
That means there will be times when you’ll answer phones, schedule patients, assist with scribing, room a patient, or step into another role when a teammate is busy or out of the office. Likewise, your teammates will do the same for you.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys collaborating, is willing to jump in wherever needed, and understands that supporting one another allows us to provide the highest level of care for our patients.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (preferred) or equivalent clinical experience
- Previous experience in ophthalmology, plastic surgery, dermatology, ENT, facial plastics, or another surgical specialty preferred
- Experience coordinating surgical patients or obtaining medical clearances is a plus
- Strong computer and EMR skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care and professionalism
