Job Description
This position exists to recruit future students for Lake Superior College by providing exceptional customer service and developing positive relationships with prospective students and their families, as well as our K12 partners. Recruitment responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: high school visits, career fairs, community presentations, special events, and assisting in and other outreach activities as assigned. Additional responsibilities include coordinating the campus visit program and campus ambassador programs. This position will also assist in organizing divisional and all campus open houses, as well as other on campus recruitment specific events. Travel is required, including some overnight travel throughout the year.
Salary Range:
$23.98-$34.69 hourly | $50,070-$72,433 annually
Minimum Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in sales, communication, business, marketing, public relations, education or related field(s). An associate’s degree may substitute for 6 months experience, a bachelor’s degree may substitute for 1-year professional experience, a master’s degree may substitute for 1.5 years’ professional experience.
- Ability to relate to and provide exceptional customer service to individuals and groups of students through a variety of communication techniques (i.e., presentations/workshops, face-to-face, email, phone, etc.) and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to independently identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, and ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines on multiple projects and assignments.
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of student information in order to comply with laws, rules, policies and procedures.
- Ability to travel independently on behalf of the college. Overnight travel is required. Ability to work well independently, and as part of a team.
- Sufficient computer skills (email, word processing, Excel, PowerPoint) to communicate with potential students and K12 partners, track information and develop presentations.
- Demonstrated effective oral, interpersonal, public speaking, and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Public Relations, Business, Marketing, Education or relevant fields.
- Demonstrated ability to work successfully with persons from diverse backgrounds, and commitment to diversity and inclusion initiatives.
- Knowledge of LSC programs, policies, procedures and services
- Knowledge of technical programs at two-year colleges
- Experience working with students, and/or potential students seeking higher education
- Experience working with high school counselors, teachers, and families of potential students.
- Experience working with Customer Relationship Management software and/or Student Information Systems.
- Knowledge of MinnState programs, policies, and procedures sufficient to answer questions for future LSC students.
Work Shift (Hours / Days of work)
Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
