Ophthalmic Assistant (Experience Required)

Our quickly growing practice is hiring again! Scasta Family Eye Care is searching for an experienced ophthalmic assistant to join our team and continue to carry out our mission statement of enriching lives by enhancing vision. This position requires someone that excels at top-notch customer service and organizational skills, multitasking is a must as well as attention to detail. Duties include greeting patients with a smile promptly, performing preliminary testing, scribing/assisting the doctor, and providing a wow factor for our patients by anticipating patient needs and taking the initiative to meet those needs. Our office prides ourselves on maintaining an exceptional level of customer service and excellence in eye care that sets our practice apart. Job Duties: perform visual acuities, blood pressure, history, preliminary work up, contact lens dispensing and training, over-refractions, contact lens follow ups, and other duties as needed.

Administrative Responsibilities:

Greet and welcome incoming patients, call patients with testing results, optical order updates, follow-up appointments needed, and reminders for their next visit. Order contact lens trials and annual supply. Maintain a clean, fully stocked and cohesive waiting area and exam rooms. Talk to patients or potential customers as they browse in the optical area and direct them to an optician. Call or E-prescribe in prescriptions medications. All training will be provided.

Pay: From $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 – 38 per week
