Project Manager - Choosing Wisely Canada

Project Manager

Choosing Wisely Canada (CWC) is a national campaign for reducing unnecessary tests and treatments in health care. CWC inspires and engages health care professionals to take leadership in reducing unnecessary tests, treatments and procedures, and enables them with simple tools and resources that make it easier to choose wisely.

CWC is currently looking for a Project Manager. This role will provide leadership and management for Choosing Wisely Canada’s national projects, including the design, planning, coordination, and implementation of initiatives, as well as overseeing communication and engagement with diverse stakeholder groups.


Duties & Responsibilities:

Conducting needs assessments to facilitate defining project scope, goals, plans, deliverables, schedules/timelines, etc., including, researching and analyzing best practices and other relevant initiatives to facilitate large scale project proposals

Designing, developing and managing the execution of project plans, and other strategies to advance CWC priorities

Monitoring and evaluating project progress, identifying potential risks and mitigation strategies, and resolving issues as they arise

Understanding the priorities of national and provincial stakeholders to ensure alignment

Establishing, building and maintaining relationships with diverse stakeholders

Collaborating with clinical leads to establish project goals and timelines and managing the execution of identified priorities.

Providing leadership and management to other CWC projects

Independent assessment of potential foci for CWC work—assessing risk, benefits, challenges

Drafting and developing national implementation tools and resources

Designing and pre-testing measurement tools

Designing data collection methods to track Canada-wide Choosing Wisley implementation efforts and analyzing common challenges

Reviewing and analyzing data to develop and implement policies, procedures, and standards related to all aspects of the Choosing Wisely program.

Preparing communication materials, reports and presentations

Work with business manager to advise on budgets for the implementation efforts



Qualifications:

MPH, MHSc, or MSc in Quality Improvement, Health Quality or related discipline

Minimum 5 years related experience required

Experience in quality improvement required

Experience working with external stakeholders across multiple institutions and across at least one province (e.g. hospitals, government, etc.) required

Excellent written communication skills are necessary

Superior organizational skills to manage multiple projects in a timely manner and flexibility to adapt to changing workload

Ability to take initiative and lead a diverse group of individuals
