Wilker Auto Conversions is a market leader in specialist vehicle conversions for emergency services, military and commercial clients across Ireland, the UK and internationally. We are now recruiting a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Clara, Co. Offaly.

Salary: €40,000–€50,000 depending on experience

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will lead the design and compliance process for a range of bespoke vehicle builds. You’ll be responsible for full technical documentation, certification readiness and production liaison using SolidWorks and related tools.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead design of vehicle conversions (box body and van) in SolidWorks
• Develop all drawings and compliance documentation to meet regulatory standards (CEN 1789, EWVTA, IVA)
• Prepare build specifications, change control and fabrication drawings
• Attend client meetings and update project specifications accordingly
• Liaise with production, purchasing and suppliers across project stages
• Produce ‘As-Built’ drawings, technical manuals and certification files

What you’ll bring:

• 3–5 years’ experience in mechanical design engineering
• Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software
• Strong grasp of certification processes and vehicle compliance standards
• Excellent Excel and document control skills
• Strong communication and team collaboration experience
