Senior Platform Engineer

Apata is a fast-growing fintech scale-up redefining fraud prevention for card issuers. The role

• Design, implement, and maintain cost-efficient, scalable, and reliable infrastructure across multiple clouds and hybrid cloud environments.
• Design, implement, and maintain automated infrastructure provisioning, monitoring, and reporting using tools like Terraform, Kubernetes, and cloud-native solutions.
• When needed, develop new systems and capabilities from the ground up, ensuring the code is clean, rigorously tested, well-reviewed, and scalable.
• Implement and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure issues ensuring high-availability and data integrity.
• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD and related systems for the deployment of services, databases, and other infrastructure.
• Collaborate with development teams to design and implement infrastructure.
• Establish best practices, maintain documentation, and provide knowledge sharing across teams.

Ideal Candidate

• Proven work experience as a platform engineer, DevOps engineer, Infrastructure engineer or similar.
• 5+ years experience in cloud architecture and infrastructure management.
• 5+ years experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining Kubernetes based solutions.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS), infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Kubernetes), and automation frameworks.
• Experience in system and application design with a focus on efficiency and reliability.
• Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for service, database, and infrastructure deployments.
• Experience with monitoring tools (e.g. Grafana, Cloudwatch).
• Experience with scripting languages (Python, bash).
• Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
