Set Up/Process Technician - Plastic Injection Moulding, Midnight Shift

• Perform tool change-overs when jobs are complete
• Review production reports issued by scheduling to ensure machines are set up with proper tools
• Review documentation for job and correctly sets machines; ensure all safety features are in place and functioning properly
• Clean machines prior to production run start-up and at the end of production runs
• Analyze and troubleshoot machinery, making the necessary process adjustments to consistently product parts that meet the company’s quality standards
• Start up and inspect first piece samples
• Proactively contribute to the success of the moulding department by ensuring quality standards, production schedules, and established standards are met
• Answer machine alarms in a timely and effective way. Maintain update set up sheets as required
• Monitor assigned production area to ensure effective and efficient operations thereby facilitating continuous improvement. Includes, but not limited to:

o Confer with production personnel to resolve problems affecting production schedules.

o Ensure that machine setting variations are recorded and proper according to the set-up sheet.

o Troubleshoot quality problems such as splay, flash, heat sinks, short shots.

o Make adjustments to auxiliary equipment as needed.

o Purge machine with proper purging compounds as needed.

o Clean moulds and properly lubricate same.

o Complete all required documentation in an accurate and timely manner.

o Study and standardize procedures to improve efficiency

o Preventative Maintenance activities as required

o Assist with general housekeeping and maintaining safety standards

o Communicate any problems to the Maintenance Department for maintenance related problems

o Other duties and projects as required

Job Types: Permanent, Full-time

Pay: From $25.00 per hour

Experience:

• Yushin and ARI Robots: 5 years (preferred)
• Hot Tip Controllers: 5 years (preferred)
• Plastics Injection Moulding: 5 years (preferred)
• Nissei Electric Moulding Machines: 5 years (preferred)

Work Location: In person
