Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate day-to-day operations of the Fabrication Shop, ensuring efficiency and productivity.
- Manage and lead a team of production supervisors, quality control inspectors, fitters, welders, machinists, and support staff.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize manufacturing processes and meet production targets.
- Monitor and enforce safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment for all employees.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and employee development within the fabrication team.
- Collaborate with the Shop Teams and Senior Management to improve fabrication techniques and streamline production workflows.
- Evaluate project budgets, production costs, and provide feedback to the management team.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a managerial role within a steel fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, equipment, and industry standards.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and guide teams.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficient in project management and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with relevant safety regulations and best practices.
- Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
- Knowledge of Tekla PowerFab is preferred.
- Knowledge of applicable and proper use for the following: welders, gas supplied equipment, rigging and components.
- Possess at minimum the tools as required to measure, verify, and audit basic conformity standards.
The Fabrication Plant Manager must posses and maintain a current valid driver's license. Offsite travel may be needed from time to time but not a regular occurrence. The Position is required to work the same hours that the Plant's production team is working, but may be required to work additional time and/or Saturdays and Sundays if required to effectively manage the fabrication operations.
