Switchboard Operator – Albany Va Medical Center

Location: Stratton VA Medical Center – 113 Holland Ave, Albany, NY 12208
Schedule: 24/7 coverage – must be flexible for nights, weekends, and holidays
Pay Range: $24.00 – $27.00 per hour (plus health & welfare benefits)

About the Role

Resolute Management Group (RMG), a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), is seeking Switchboard Operators to support the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center. Operators will handle incoming calls, transfer and page medical staff, and support emergency notifications.

Responsibilities

• Operate a multi-line switchboard console to answer and direct calls within 5 rings
• Page physicians, nurses, and staff as needed
• Support emergency calls and codes (Code Blue, fire, disaster alerts)
• Maintain confidentiality of all patient and staff information (HIPAA compliance)
• Provide courteous and professional service at all times

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED
• 1+ year of experience in a call center, hospital operator, or receptionist role
• Ability to pass a federal background investigation
• Strong communication and customer service skills

Preferred Skills

• Experience in hospital or healthcare environments
• Familiarity with VA or federal systems
• Ability to remain calm under pressure during emergencies

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $22.80 - $27.00 per hour
