We are looking for a full-time highly motivated and personable Technical Project Manager to join our team!
This is a full-time position with opportunity for bonuses. You will qualify for health and dental insurance, life insurance, vacation, holiday pay, 401k with company match. This is a work in the office position based in Rochester, NY and you must have the ability to work in the US.
An MSP Technical Project Manager is the high-stakes conductor of a multi-client orchestra. Unlike internal PMs who focus on a single environment, you will navigate a diverse landscape of hardware deployments, cloud migrations, and network overhauls across dozens of unique business infrastructures. You are the primary bridge between client stakeholders and engineering teams, responsible for transforming technical requirements into profitable, high-velocity project plans.
This role demands a rare blend of logistical mastery and technical intuition; you will oversee the entire project lifecycle while ensuring every milestone aligns with both the client’s budget and our internal standards of excellence. Success in this position requires the discipline to follow rigorous process frameworks and the agility to solve complex bottlenecks in a fast-paced, billable-hours environment.

Technical Expertise & Domain Knowledge
- MSP Ecosystem Fluency: Deep understanding of the MSP service model, including RMM (Remote Monitoring & Management) and PSA (Professional Services Automation) tools.
- Infrastructure Breadth: Foundational knowledge of cloud migrations (Azure/AWS/M365), network stack refreshes (firewalls, switches, APs), and virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Procurement Mastery: Experience managing the full hardware/software lifecycle, from generating Quotes/SOWs to tracking logistics and vendor lead times.
- Security-First Mindset: Ability to integrate cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, CIS, SOC2) into project delivery to ensure client environments remain compliant and secure.
Project Management & Operations
- Strategic Planning: Minimum 6+ years of experience managing the full Project Management Lifecycle (PMLC), specifically focused on infrastructure deployments and system integrations.
- Tool Proficiency: Advanced skills in PM software (e.g., Jira, Asana, MS Project, or Monday.com) and the ability to build automated workflows within those tools.
- Resource Orchestration: Expert at "puzzling" together technician schedules, balancing billable hours, and preventing engineer burnout.
- Change Management: Ability to lead clients through the "dip" in productivity that often accompanies new technology rollouts.
- The "Translator" Ability: Exceptional communication skills with a proven track record of distilling complex technical jargon into "business value" for C-suite stakeholders.
- Conflict Resolution: Strong negotiation skills for handling "scope creep" and managing difficult conversations regarding budget overages or project delays.
- Proactive Ownership: A "stop-the-buck-here" attitude; the ability to identify bottlenecks before they become "red" projects.
- Adaptability: Comfortable shifting gears in a high-velocity environment where client priorities can change in a single afternoon
