We currently have casual employment opportunities in our team and we're after enthusiastic people who are bursting with energy to help deliver our Good-to-Go travel planning programme.
About the team | Ko te rōpū nei
Partnering with Councils and stakeholders across Greater Christchurch, we run various workplace, schools and community engagements across the year to help people with their travel choices around the city. As a team, we value people who share our vision of a well-connected and accessible city promoting active and public transport.
About the role | Ko te mahi nei
As a Travel Planning Assistant you will be providing advice to audiences on travel choices for their commuting. The goal is to increase the use of active, public and shared modes of transport. You will be:
- Providing personalised travel advice to members of the community
- Responding to questions regarding transport modes and related local infrastructure
- Assisting and supporting the collection of data for key customer groups
- Completing other tasks to support Community Travel Advisors, such as set up for engagements, administrative tasks (including some phone calls), and GIS work for those with experience in this area.

You are positive, energetic, and excited to be a part of a team that works with our community. You must have excellent customer service, relationship building and communication skills. You will need to have honesty, integrity and a high level of maturity, with the ability to work unsupervised. You will also have:
- Proven experience in advising, teaching or behaviour change activity in a face-to-face setting
- Significant knowledge and experience with the local transport network -particularly cycling, walking and public transport
- Understanding and ability to work within a corporate environment
- Ability to think on your feet to provide constructive advice and encouragement while engaging with people
- A positive attitude. Reliable with excellent teamwork and time management skills
- Flexibility to work different hours over the week

- Position - Casual
- Salary - The hourly rate for this position goes from $35.77 per hour to $39.74 per hour. Starting rates will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
- Closing Date -03/05/26 - 11:55pm
- Interview Dates: There will be an assessment centre (group interview) for this role on Monday 18th May 9:30am. We are unable to offer alternative dates for interviews.
- Training Dates: Successful applicants will be required to attend training on Monday 15th June and Thursday 18th June.
